As MP Nadine Dorries heads into the jungle for I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, we look at other MPs who have risked their reputations on reality TV shows.

Has it been reported whether she will still be picking up her salary or is she on unpaid leave whilst appearing on this senseless programme ? I think we should be told

I sent this to Mrs May

"I think it’s an absolute disgrace disappearing for weeks to appear on a senseless TV programme whilst picking up a taxpayer funded salary.

What are your feelings on this ?"

and this week received her reply

"It is for Nadine to account to her constituents for her own actions. However, my view is that the place for Members of Parliament is in Westminster or their constituencies, and I am not convinced that it is possible for an MP to adequately represent their constituents whilst spending a number of weeks abroad for a TV programme."

Well from what I have seen the chief whip gave her permission to have a month off. My boss dont tell me what to do on my days off. By the way this was a tongue in cheek comment.

Whilst one would rightly expect to see the errant MP "taken to task" and "hauled over the [real] coals" in this instance ... it's advisable that one refrains from holding one's breath ... :action-smiley-082: ...

... let's wait and see what happens once the "crap's" blown over - and the usual :readingpapers: "stink's" died down a bit - shall we?

Be the "price" of her ... if she were one of the first contestants "flushed" out of the Australian jungle.
