"BP has received the biggest criminal fine in US history as part of a $4.5bn (£2.8bn) settlement related to the fatal 2010 Deepwater Horizon disaster.

It's had a knock-on effect throughout the industry though. Most oil and gas companies and oil and gas related companies are tightening up on their procedures as a result of this debacle, as they don't want to be fined or have their name tarnished.
