all you can do is wait,, they will send you a letter if they need you to enroll your biometrics. applying by post takes months of waiting i'm afraid..

Have they acknowledged receipt of your application or do you have any proof that they've received it from Royal Mail tracking if you sent it Recorded or Special Delivery ?

flr m you mean?

there is no time frames on visa processing im afraid.
many applicants in this forum who sent their forms away 8 months ago are waiting still.
all you can do is wait at the moment.
in any case they will inform you right away if theres a decision already.

Visas are catered by its own merits my love and there is no timeframe for its approval. it can be quick or it can be slow.

like for example rayna above as far as I know has been waiting 8 months but your friend got it after 5 months. You know what I mean?

its a waiting game, we cant do much on that but to wait.

The process should be:

1. After UKBA received your application via post, they should sent you acknowledgement letter, telling they received your application.

2. They would send you Biometrics Letter.

3. You have to do your Biometrics on a post office or at a PEO that do that.

4. After your biometrics, the waiting agony starts.

5. UKBA would contact you just in case they want more documents from you. If you haven't got any calls or letter or any kind of communication from them, it would only mean that (a) your documents are complete, or (b) your documents are piled like the others.

6. You would receive your documents & passport back when UKBA has made a decision. A letter would be included telling that your Biometrics Residence Permit card would arrive via post after a few days when your visa is approved.

7. BRP card would arrived via post.

That's the process. Regarding my application, I haven't received an acknowledgement letter. After a week that they got my application, they sent me the Biometrics letter. Then after I did my biometrics, I heard nothing from them. I've been calling every week after my application reached its 6th month, but all the time, the answer I'm getting is always "PENDING DECISION" status. I have seek the help of our local MP and they also failed to get any definite answer from UKBA other than they would just inform me after they've made a decision and that I only need to wait. I sent a complaint through UKBA's complaint department but I haven't got any response from it. I sent a second letter again yesterday and I don't know if I'd get a response this time. What I found out though is that UKBA is processing June and July applications now..most applications from Feb-May are pending.

My wifes situation is similar to Rayna in as much as it has now turned 7 months since our application was received by UKBA and our MP also raised the question as to why the disgraceful delay, it took them a month to reply to him with the same stock answer that they applications are done in date order and we would hear in due course. £561 plus £20 biometrics for that sort of pathetic response is shameful yet it appears that if u pay an additional £300 and manage to get an appointment and appear at the designated place then u may get it in a couple of hours which just goes to show how simple and easy a non complicated application is to issue. :Brick:

Exactly. It's not that they cant process them briskly. It's that they effectively choose not to. Under resourced I imagine, which is poor considering the amount paid in fee money.

bleedin obvious innit. just have to pay the extra ransome if it means you can work and get earning a lot sooner.

Also an incentive for others in the future, to go the Spousal route in Manila, initially.

Not bleedin obvious at all, if they are able to do all the hard work in Philippines and issue the fiancée visa in one month in our case, then i don't think it unreasonable to expect what is little more than a formality to issue the FLR within a reasonable time frame as the only extra documentation they really need to see is the marriage certificate and maybe evidence of spouse habitation. £561 for this is a complete rip off anyway and if they can issue an FLR in a couple of hours if you pay an even bigger rip off fee then it shows contempt to those of us who play by the rules. Surely its not unreasonable to expect a decent attitude and sensible turnaround from UKBA towards genuine applicants but they appear to not give a damn.:cwm23:

Maybe establishing contact with Kate Green might help the cause.........

its bleedin obvious the authority knows most partners coming here will need to work--as soon as possible--to recover all the huge costs involved---so an extra £ 300 in the gov pot will speed things up nicely.

its just a job-tax.

now i understand the written process, its just too vague when it comes to the time frame on how they process them, after a week you received the acknowledgement letter they instructed you to take bio-metrics, 3 weeks ago i received my acknowledgement until now there is no notice regarding bio-metrics, now im starting to get worried about the whole thing i really hate the waiting game :( thanks rayna! xx

I wouldnt worry too much Bev as I am sure u will have noticed that UKBA are in the news again si it seems they are under staffed and under resourced so timing issues are likely to get worse. What is so annoying is that we pay a lot of money for this service, its not out of public funds so I see no reason why they cant provide us with a fair and reasonable turnaround timescale for what is a fairly simple process for the majority of FLR applications.

things have got a lot worse recently, FLR AND ILR use to take 4wks in the past to process, some people have been waiting 6 months or more now :NoNo:, i wonder howe much of it is to do with the job cuts at UKBA
