Usual stock lines from the UKBA - why give these Bangladeshis visas in the first place ?. It's about time the Govt brought in legislation to shut these rogue businesses down

Acting on information received, UK Border Agency officers went to Taste of India, London Road, on November 17.
Immigration checks were made on staff and three men from Bangladesh were found to be in the UK illegally having failed to leave the country after their visas had expired.
The three, aged 52, 33 and 23, were arrested and remain in immigration detention pending removal from the UK.

I think they really need to target the employers. If they make the risk of getting caught far outweigh the benefits of employing these people then employers would think twice.
Where a business is caught with say more than 2 or 3 illegals then it is obvious that it is their policy to employ them. So then you should say if you are caught with 3 or more the fine is increased to £50,000 per illegal this would make them think again. Once you start aggressively targeting the employers then the message will start to hit home.

"Ethnic" businesses seem to be the major employers of illegals maybe the Govt Handwringing Fraternity don't want to be seen to be hitting them hard

The Curry house owners claim they need to bring in people from India/Pakistan etc because US whiteys don't know how to prepare their ethnic dishes. (Even with training ?).
I suppose roast rat and mouldy chicken carefully prepared by unwashed hands that just wiped an Rs, possibly are outside our normal food preparation skills. :icon_rolleyes:
