Your visa Application reference no ***************** is under process at the British Embassy.

First email last Thursday that I received that my application has been dispatched.
What does 2nd email means? Is it the first day that they are working on my visa application? I submitted my docs last Thursday, first email last Thursday that I received that my application has been dispatched. My travel plan is Dec. 20.

I'm sure it means as it says, that your application documents are being processed. Just wait now and they will contact you again when completed, good luck!!

Do I still have enough time if I travel Dec. 20?

It basically means that they have your application. I wouldn't make any travel plans until you have the visa in your hand.

Even if you got a plan to fly on the 20th i would suggest not to do or make any arrangements like what bigmarco said.

WAIT until you receive your passport with your VISA stampped on it.

Thats the message we got.

But best to wait till you get the passport back before booking a ticket.

Yes ... I was married in the Phils 4 years ago come December 8 and accompanied my wife when she lodged her spousal application the following January 20.

And I remember getting excited :Hellooo: when, a few days later, she was sent a text message similar to yours ... and then having my ardour cooled :cwm24: on discovering it amounted to no more than a standard acknowledgement of receipt.

Turned out to be 41/2 weeks' later before the visa was actually in her hands ... by which time I was back in Blighty, and my good lady ended up flying to Manchester Airport alone.

So, based on my own experience, :iagree: with what others here have already advised - it's best NOT to book any flights at the present stage to avoid disappointment.

I'm not making any arrangement with my flight yet. Just worried coz I wrote on the travel date in the form is Dec. 20 and they just start working on my application today. Hope they won't say that I should apply 2 months before my application.

Well ... in OUR case, we'd put February 19, 2009 - i.e., the date I'd been due to fly home. But, in the event, :anerikke: my wife's documents - including her passport, with the visa affixed - weren't returned until the 23rd.

So its not big issue with the date we put in the form then? Thats my worries

Not really, we always put random dates in the form as an estimated flight plan, its not fixed or whatsoever so it wont affect anything I suppose.

No ... not really. :nono-1-1: 'Fraid the Entry Clearance staff at the British Embassy are "a law unto themselves" (like MOST civil servants) and will only make the necessary checks on applicants' details when THEY'RE good and ready to do so.

Even though the reason of my visit is Christmas with his family?

Yes ... even in SUCH circumstances because, travel dates are requested merely in order to provide them with some sort of guidelines on which to process *applications - since it follows that the speed with which *they are dealt with will, of course, be LARGELY dependent on the Embassy's workload at any given time. :icon_rolleyes:

Got the same emails too, first was a day after the application second email like yours was 3 days after the application then silence after that...we just applied 15th Nov,naughty me I put 24th Nov as my intended travel but now its already 28th:icon_lol:,me and hubby aware that it should be at least 3 months before the intended travel, but since he was here during that time of application then back on 24th,we just thought to put it so me can go back with him hoping that miracle would happen  thought nothing wrong with it when we put that date since it's just a question of date that I wish to travel in Uk........but guess we'll just have to wait the result till 3 months :pray:,but hopefully earlier than that, missing hubby much.

Ah ... :sorry-2: ... it's only just dawned on me that it IS, in fact, a *visitor visa you've applied for - not one or other of the settlement kinds.

Well ... in *that case, you can expect to know the outcome much sooner - certainly long before Christmas - and we  for a successful result.

I will try my luck first on general visit and proceed to settlement visa. I might hear from my application next week and yeah we are all praying for the positive result.
