:Hellooo:
Most of you will have read the story so far and know why i feeling a bit sad! :bigcry: I am thinking of getting on a plane (or 2) and having a break in Fil. Can anyone suggest a suitable place to go as a single bloke?. I want to be around simple ordinary traditional Filli people (nice hotel required tho). Not interested in `western` Manila and i dont want to be a tourist among all the Americans etc.
I only know Surigao and i dont want to go there at this moment in time.

Hi mark,I understand how you feel right now.Am sorry for that.I suggest Camiguin for you its peaceful and quite far from the busy city life. You could stay in Paras Beach Resort or in the Ardent Spring resort.Or you could Research about the Island.dont worry mark She`s not worth it.Move on to your life and you`ll find much better than her.

Hi Mark,
There are many beautiful places to visit in the Philippines. You can check it on the internet. Provinces are the best places to have relaxation since you want to move on. Forget about her.... Enjoy life!!!!. Wish you will meet a filipina who is worth your love.... I'm sure you will find one, just be careful with your heart....

Hi Mark, I suggest Cebu cause people there are friendly. I have some friends there also so, if you like I can introduce you to some of them and they will show you around the city. Bohol for their nice beach. You can relax there and nobody will bother you. Yes, Camiguin is a very nice place as well.

Yes, I can recommend Cebu.
Friendly, welcoming and although busy, not without its faults, it is not virulently violent like Manila.
The choice of places to stay is varied and for all kind of pockets.
From the everything inclusive beach resorts, to the more modest but impeccably clean pension houses.
But where ever you go, you will find warmth, smiles and loads of absolutely stunning ladies.
Obviously, there are people that will try to get you to part with your money for little or no work at all, and scammers...
But when on situ you will be able to see for yourself and judge.
One word of advice is don't try to get something going on the rebound. It ain't going to work...
By all means, go, enjoy a nice vacation but don't make the mistake of taking your earlier disappointment out on some innocent person. Be positive... It is a relaxing vacation. Meet people, you don't have to mix with other "white" guys if you don't want to, it is your holiday.
As per a place to stay, I have to recommend the http://www.booking.com/hotel/ph/metropark.html
I have had the pleasure of staying there 3 times and never had any complaints. We also had our wedding reception there. The hotel food is nice, the service rather quick, by Filipino standards...
The rooms are more than adequate and very reasonably priced.
I prefer it to a Premier Travel Inn or a Travelodge in this country....
2 quid taxi fare away from the beach, and about 60 pence from the nearest mall. And 5 minute walk to the nice restaurants in Salinas Drive.
All in all, Cebu is the place to go, besides....

Cebuanas rock !!!!!!!!:xxgrinning--00xx3::xxgrinning--00xx3::xxgrinning--00xx3:

Hope it helps

Dom

you will find most, of not all hotels have rooms with two beds. just be sure to ask, or book ahead.

They will invariably ask you on booking wether you want a single, a twin or a "matrimonial" bedded room...:xxgrinning--00xx3:

I would avoid the downtown area for the time being, but it is nowhere near the airport anyway, more like by the south coastal road, where traffic is heavily discouraged from traveling at night.

Mactan Island, where the airport is situated, is home to the best Hotel resorts in Cebu.

http://www.southtravels.com/asia/philippines/cebu.html

There is a marvellous fresh fish restaurant just outside the Lapu-Lapu Shrine, which is well worth having a look at, a couple of other features not to miss are the Taoist Temple, and Mountain Tops, and the views are breathtaking.
A day trip to Bohol and the Chocolate Hills will definitively turn your holiday from "good" to "brilliant"...:xxgrinning--00xx3:
A restaurant noted for its excellent food and prices is La Laguna in Ayala mall.
The best espresso, in my opinion, is to be found at "BO's Coffee Club", forget Starbucks...:xxgrinning--00xx3:

The Metro Park Hotel, is in Lahug, and very central, and less than 3 quid by taxi from the airport.

Good luck

Dom

I respect your view and beliefs on this subject.

Everybody is entitled to choose his/her path.

I suggest to go the single room route... As opposed to a twin.

Make sure you explain this fully to your g/f / fiancee, as she might not see the point, and think that you don't like her.
I tried to abstain, and only succeded for a couple of days before succumbing to her tears. I am afraid I am weak.

I wish you all the best.

Hi, thanks for the offer, but if there are loads of brits there - i want to go somewhere else. I like to eat simple foods with local people and feel the real culture. I know these brits will not be like the `Spain` british, but i still like to meet local people in traditional surroundings.

Hello i just wanna give a suggestion, if you don't want a busy place i don't think Cebu is the right place for you to mend your broken heart I don't mean to be rude to the Cebuanos here ok?? but a lot of tourist that i saw in Cebu when i went there. It the next busiest City to Manila..if i were you try to check the site of Dept of tourism.

Pagudpud in Ilocos is highly recommended, its just 3 hrs drive in from Manila, such a nice and quiet place!! Good luck!!

you can go to bohol or paradise island in davao or camiguin island.tonet is right cebu is second to manila and its the oldest city in philippines.you can try to stop a few days in singapore too. you can try loads of food and its cheap too. but don't go to remote areas in philippines for safety reasons.i think this time of year is less tourist coming to philippines because its the rainy season and less activities that attract tourist.
