I would just like to throw this question to all the Filipina wives/girlfriends here and to the guys also.
Finally my wife is with me and I am making sure that I am doing everything possible so she can feel safe and secure in this country of ours.
My family absolutely adore her and have made her feel so welcome and the look in her eyes tell me she is very happy.
I was just wondering about some input from you about how you adjusted to your new life here and what extra can I do to show my wife that everything will be ok.
I know its a massive step for her and for her to adjust to her new life here, so any stories from either the guys or girls here and any words of advice would be very much appreciated.
Thank you everyone...

well if you ask me i just get one with it and you being on her side as always will be enough for her to feel security and safeness.
one of the things that made me adjust quickly to things in the uk was i opened my eyes and mind as much as i can to see what really is britain and i took it from there.
im sure she'll be alright. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Also find some filipino friends.
My wife is much happier since we moved and now has many friends. They try to get together once a week for a chat and eat filipino food. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

From your other posts, you said she's pregnant right? When she gives birth to the baby, always find time to help her in taking care of your baby. She needs all your help as no one else might be able to help her. In the Philippines, it's easy to find someone, like her parents or siblings or relatives that would be willing to do some chores or baby sitting.

Hi,
Being a mother to a 14 month old little one, the best thing you can do is assure your wife with hugs and cuddles, rub in the back and foot massage (her being heavily pregnant) she needs that.
When the baby is born, make sure that your wife will have time for herself. It is great being with your love ones, at first and away from the family and country where she grew up and used to. But the homesickness hits after couple of weeks, and that is the very time you need to be strong for your wife.
Other than that she will be alright. It does take adjustments.

Don't let her become lonely, but also allow her some independence and to do some things 'her' way (which may be different from 'ours' ).

always be there for her coz i'm sure eventually she will get homesick, its normal so don't let her get bored in the house, take her for a nice drive so that she can see how beautiful this country is or maybe a date once in a while..she is a long way from home so always makes sure to make her feel she is part of your family

Re-assurance from my hubby and the words "Yes Dear" is the key to a happy wife for me :xxgrinning--00xx3::icon_lol:

Mark, I'm sure your wife will be fine knowing that your family adore her, because my family don't want to know me or my Maritess, but we just keep each other happy and it works very well. Love is strong!!

Thank you everyone...
when i arrived here in the uk , i didnt get the chance for jet lag thingy hubby is on break from work so he took me shopping everyday(town center) took me to hills woods and countryside and even stinky farms, etc ... in short to familiarize with the place...he even bought me a map of Swindon:grosyeux:..the family is great , we had a BIG get together dinner and mum in law is the best (she used to pick me up and take me to shopping and dropped me home when hubby is at work)..it took me awhile to become confident to commute on my own through buses etc then about half a year to go on train to London on my own... I still feel homesick not only because of being away with my family in PH , sometimes its the miserable weather here that makes me want to go home:NoNo:
Anyway, no woman will be unhappy as long as they got the support and love of their partners all the time.
