Yes, that was probably one of the best.
It stayed around for ages.
I remember try to get that perfect photo. Not an easy task and never managed to get a top one.

Seems there were quite a few in the 90's

I can also remember the famous Shoemaker-Levy which broke up. But I remember some part crunched right into Jupiter and ended up on video.wow.

i remember taking my kids into the countryside to see this, with no lights around it did look very impressive
