There SHOULD be an in-out referendum,the rest is just politicians padded rhetoric,no substance nor meat on the bones sadly,we need someone with cojones to stand and say THhis is how its going to be and set out a concrete step-by-step plan of action.

Freedom of movement is an absolute cornerstone of the EU

UK should have used it's veto at the time.

Too many people do not have a good grasp on the pro's and con's of EU membership to make informed decisions in any referendum

Just my opinion

i suppose its cheaper and easier to do that than spend billions on redeveloping the poorer countries in the EU so its citzens wouldn't go and move to el dorado !

its :crazy::Rasp: that someone on a workpermit has to work and pay taxes for 5yrs to be able to get recourse to public funds , and your spouse had 2 pay taxes for 2yrs, now that's going to be 5yrs :crazy: but a European in the UK can claim them virtually straight away..

its unbelievable :crazy::doh

Rather than "looking" at it I'd rather it was stopped and the obvious chancers and wasters forcibly repatriated

one thing that does get up my nose a little is when these people do cross other countries to get here why is it not just the people who can work if needed not all there family members, yes move to where work maybe and then send money back but its when husband ,wife, kids, even grandparents, thats the problem to me

Exactly!

That is (A non too secret thing) the very reason politicians aren't keen on an EU referendum. I have heard a politician say that if they were to have one, then Murdoch would dictate government policy. It would be all too easy to sway public opinion, and for every member of the public who took the time to read up all the pros and cons, there would be many others who would use it to make some sort of statement about the Germans bombing their grandads chippy/1966/the French are smelly sexmaniacs/the Belgians beat us in It's a Knockout/etc.

I'm going to make a prediction - I think the vote would be to leave the EU. That is why some in the tory party (The ones who aren't too keen on foreigners, and that is probably quite a few) are for a referendum, that is why most of the tory party is against a referendum - remember it was their idea to go in to the EU in the first place, they who signed every single treaty put their way giving away independence. I don't know why so many people think the tories are somehow on the side of the Brits in this, because they are anything but. This is also why the UKIP are wanting a referendum, because they make no secret they want out (It's even in their name)

Either the most senior politicians are secretly hoping for a place in some EU quango when they retire, or they realise something many of us don't - in the policy of every single government for the last 40 years to keep us in the EU.

I've no idea
