OLONGAPO CITY — A fire swept through a hotel in Barangay Barretto in this city early Friday, killing seven people, including three Americans, three Filipinos and a South Korean, authorities said.

The three American men and the South Korean man were found dead in separate rooms in the Dryden Hotel, a small two-storey tourist hotel in Olongapo city, a former U.S. naval base, said police Senior Inspector Gil Arizo Domingo. The bodies of three Filipino women were found in separate parts of the hotel, he said.

Very sad. I was in Subic last February.
.
Always a potential hazard in the Philippines, so know how to get out.
I know Subic well, though not sure whether I've been into this particular establishment.
The owner is very well known amongst expats there.

.....know how to get out.....

Now that is seriously important.

When I travelled a lot (in a previous life) I ALWAYS made a point of reading the emergency exit instructions and always checked them out.
I told all my friends/co-workers etc to do the same.

Might sound sad, but I can tell you it's a real life saver.

Well said Graham :xxgrinning--00xx3:

It's a hazard everywhere.
