Think of all the money you might save not having it:wink:
Why didn't the man report his stolen credit card?
The thief was spending less than his wife!

From a recent visit to HSBC I got the impression that they would set up all needed bank accounts etc in the Philippines with no fuss including the immediate issue of credit cards.
Hmm, maybe they didn't go over the 'small print'.
Did they arrange everything for you ? or did you do it yourself independently?
Or does it depend on the type of account held?

Did you just open the account here in the Philippines or was it from abroad?

Good question.
HSBC previously told us they can set up everything for us so that it's already working and available when we arrive.

Yes they set up accounts before I left the UK. But I still have UK accounts and credit card I can use here. CC works fine on the pin but will not work for online purchase because of the change of address. The account they set up for you is restricted, you have to transfer funds to a pounds account then send a secure message to ask them to transfer it to your peso account. They will only remove the restrictions when your I-Card is resident.
