My wife took her city and guilds entry level 1 certificate in esol reading and listening and writing preliminary A1
she has a fist class pass so there I think she has demontrated she can speak and understand English well.
She is here on a 2 year spouse visa
I wonder does she need to take a life in the Uk test or can these certificates be used to demonstrate she has a excellent understanding of the English see I don't want to be making her doba test if she don't have to I seen on a forum that esol certificates are ok when you make FLR application
She done her esol test in Cebu so it would be great if these could be used again
Thanks guys

the 'life in uk ' test and the English language tests are 2 different things,
the life in uk test is not just a test on her level of English but also about British culture etc

so unless The course your wife took included citizenship materials derived from the document 'Citizenship Materials for ESOL Learners' (ISBN: 1-84478-5424). then she will have to take it.

'British Culture'.

Yes, she has to learn that her kids are not allowed to wear a christian ankle band to school, but turbans and muslim headscarves etc are fine. :icon_rolleyes:

I see the head teacher trotted out the usual politically-correct garbage. :NoNo:
