Why you chose Cavite Steve? Any particular reason? Climate in Cavite is the same with the rest of the country. Right now, its rainy season here. Depends on the traffic, its more or less 1 hour away from Manila.

for me, its ok only for holiday,,,

Hi Steve welcome to the forum.... I agree with dada if you're planning o settle in the Philippines you have to think 100 times. Think of your benefits you will leave back home, hospitalization, doctor's consultation, medicines, etc. Life is good here provided you have a house, car , business and of course lots of money. Most of the things you have in U.K. are very cheap here but of course when it comes to quality it differs. Philippines is ok just for a holiday. Anyway, i wish you luck!~!!!!!!

Hi...I am currently living in Bacoor,Cavite...any idea where in Cavite u want to settle down?

If u are more like a country side/scenery guy... Tagaytay or Silang is still quite nice..(still part of Cavite) There's two big malls nearby...for buying things, i think theres a store there also... that sells English Sausages and some imported british stuffs (same kind they sell in Boracay Island)

If u are a city guy... Bacoor,Dasmarinas,Molino... so u can go bk & forth Manila quite easy...but like they said, all depends on the traffic. But at the moment they are doing some road widening so hopefully it will be better. Also malls scattered about...

Cavite is our neighbor province (Laguna) There are some place of Cavite that climate is cool. Tagaytay lake is part of Batangas and Cavite and living around that area is cool. We have a shortcut way from Sta. Rosa to Tagaytay, about 20 minutes drive and love to visit that cool place in summertime. Cost 20 pence to reach by jeepney:Hellooo::BouncyHappy:

[QUOTE=PeterB;31645]Hey Steve, 53 y/o UK male here, also planning to settle in Phils, but much further south - Ruby lives in Davao, on Mindanao island.

Hello Peter and Ruby...Im from Davao too but from the love story I read about you both, I think Ruby is from Tagum City while I live in Davao City. Is Ruby there with you now? Best wishes to both of you.

Yes, I meant Davao region (Davao del Norte) as opposed to Davao City.

I'll be in Phils from Sept 5 - Sept 11, and will be travelling back to the UK with Ruby. Thanks for your wishes!

Cavite is good place to relocate to, particularly in Dasmariņas, General Trias. Both places are near the malls, market, schools, etc.

The only thing you have to deal with is the traffic going to Manila (if you're going through the Coastal Road), it can make you :cwm23:. But there are other alternate routes, you can take the SLEX.
