Uefa takes action against Manchester United

Uefa has begun disciplinary proceedings against Manchester United following their Champions League defeat by Real Madrid on Tuesday.

European football's governing body is taking action over Nani's red card and the "non-fulfilment of post-match media obligations" at Old Trafford.

Nani was sent off by Turkish referee Cuneyt Cakir in the 56th minute for a high challenge on Alvaro Arbeloa.

The English champions went on to lose the tie 3-2 on aggregate.

Nani's red card is subject to a disciplinary review which will decide whether the automatic one-match ban should be extended.

Looks like Ferdinands got off but they're after Ferguson for bottling out of the post match interviews and sending out hapless gofer Phelan

I fully agree with UEFA on this!

OK, Man U lost after a poor decision by the referee, but they should still fulfill their contractural obligations to provide interviews.

Many other teams have gone out of the Champions League following controversial decisions, yet players and managers still do the press conference. If Man U and Ferguson consider themselves above this, so they should get a hefty fine! :cwm23:

On the contrary I didn't think the sending off spoilt the game. I enjoyed it after that
