Remarkable people. I don't think many people would be able to do this.

14 March 2013

The parents of a teenage boy who was kicked to death have met all three of his murderers — and forgiven them.

Up to them, but if someone had kicked my son to death, by hook or by crook I'd have them killed, and accept spending the rest of my days behind bars.

My brother was murdered in UK.

Later a man was convicted.

As a serving police officer, I was always doubtful about what had actually happened. I subsequently read the official papers in the case and was surprised that on the facts he was convicted of murder not manslaughter.

I can't say I ever held any grudge against the man who was convicted.

Incidentally, I was then and still am, an advocate for the death penalty, but with exceptions in some circumstances. My brother’s murder would have been an exception.

The biggest problem with hate and not being able to forgive is that it will wreck your life and tear you apart daily till you die.. Hate is a self destructive emotion in my experience.
I doubt that the dead loved one would have wanted that for their grieving loved ones, had they lived.
Not sure if that makes sense..But there you go.
