So I've browsed the forum a few times before but only signed up today.

I got off to a bad start by making a reply to the thread over here:

By way of background I'm a 53 year old Scot living in Buckinghamshire. My squeeze is from around Zamboanga. We met in Dubai when she was a theatre sister in a hospital there and I visited regularly on business.

Celestine is now back in her province to look after her daughter and her family's farm. She'd like to study to be a doctor in Britain (and is easily smart enough) and we're currently going through the process of university applications.

It may be a long haul!

 Fair enough ... :anerikke: ... by your own admission you did get off to rather a bad start, :iagree:! But you've since made amends with the explanation you subsequently gave on your *initial introductory thread - and have, moreover, had the good grace to apologise openly for any unfortunate misunderstanding *it inadvertently caused at the time. Accordingly, I'm prepared to accept you're not a troll and - as a fellow Scot - would like to take this opportunity to :welcomex: you to our friendly filipino/uk website ... in addition, naturally, to wishing both you and Celestine godspeed with your joint efforts towards helping her achieve her ambition to upgrade her nursing qualifications in line with those required to pursue a career in medicine.

Admirable choice, if I may say so. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Arthur, thanks for the gracious reply.

Celestine was raised by her grandfather who is a doctor in Mindanao. She studied Chemistry in Manila and then trained as a nurse.

Her wee girl is aged 7 and bright as a button. I know that they'd both thrive over here.
