1) May I know if the sponsor's invitation letters addressed to the guest and addressed to the British Embassy require ORIGINAL copy? Or a scanned copy will do?

2) May I know if the financial documents such as pay60 and bank statement should be all ORIGINAL as well?

Any advise is highly appreciated.

Thank you

Hello smartie, welcome to the forum. :welcomex:

What type of visa are you thinking about ?
Visitor Visa ?
Settlement Type Visa?
Or another?

All documents that are applicant mandatory according to immigration rules MUST be original (unless otherwise stated)
Some documents may be submitted as certified copies if provide with explanation and if acceptable to UKBA.

In general UKBA state
All supporting documents must be originals, not copies

Please take a look at the UKBA Supporting Documents Guidance (http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/documents/out-of-country/visitors.pdf)

I am applying as General Visitor (as aunt/uncle, niece/nephew relationship is no longer part of the 2012 Family visit form).

Thanks for the info. I'll ask my aunt to pouch her pay60, bank statement, land registry to me (all in original copies).

Good forum for us info seeker. :-)

Just for info, that P60 will be out of date. It's a record for the tax period April 2011- April 2012
The next P60 will be a record of the tax period April 2012 - April 2013 (last 12 months) and should be issued before May 31st 2013. Better to have 6 months payslips with the associated bank statements
There's no need to send an original Land Registry. It's sufficient to send the online print out that can be had for a very small fee.

As a visitor you'll need to provide good evidence of compelling reasons to return home before the visa expiry.
A quick search here will reveal many helpful hints and tips

Supporting letters? Should these be hand written or typed? I am just in the process of getting the documents together.:xxgrinning--00xx3:

It doesn't matter. There's no specification as it's not mandatory.

Personally, I always provide 'typed' (word processor and printed) simply because it's much easier for the ECO to read.
Especially with my handwritten scratchy scrawl :icon_rolleyes:
