Fake Time Magazine Cover

A top Philippine newspaper Saturday was taken in by a spoof cover of Time magazine depicting President Benigno Aquino with his mouth agape, running the picture on its front page.

"We stand corrected. It was an honest mistake," said a short statement issued by the Inquirer's editor-in-chief Letty Jimenez-Magsanoc.

She did not say who gave the paper the picture, which had the Filipino leader saying in its caption: "I'm just the face of the whole country."

The picture however remained on the paper's website on Saturday afternoon.

Time named Aquino on its annual list of the "100 Most Influential People in the World".

But he was not among the seven on the list who graced the covers of the magazine's US and global editions, according to the magazine's website.

He is in the 100 most influential edition..only a small section though..we have that magazine..well the real one..:biggrin:

I tend to be a bit cynical about Filipino Presidents, as you can imagine, given the previous succession of con-artists, later discovered to have had their hands in the till. :cwm25:

He's been doing a good job I think.

He did manage to make it into the top 100 along with the likes of Kim jong un ( North Korea) and Kate Middleton :icon_rolleyes:

The magazine also mentioned that he has helped the economy.
His propaganda machine is doing a good job of showing him in good light!
Personally i don't think he is doing that good a job and he always uses the "it was GMA's fault' to get himself out of tricky situations.
