Good.
On a positive note at least the witnesses are spared giving evidence.
Probably only a guilty plea given for selfish purposes.
I hope that his age will not impact sentencing. :censored:

Seems to have impacted on the fact that they've let the depraved scumbag out on bail

Can't understand that. He is quite clearly going to receive a custodial sentence so he should have been remanded in custody :cwm23:

No consistency with any of this - the Northern Courts normally allow Muslim groomers bail whilst on trial then remand them in custody once found guilty

I think he has been released on Bail as there is no chance of him absconding so I'm not worried about that,He will definitely get a custodial sentence regardless of his age as the crimes were serious.
To be honest i think he could end up topping himself in the meantime.
It's horrible what he did,i used to think he was brill back in the day and loved his barmy football reports in later years.
Yes he has pleaded guilty for easier sentence,in a way though it's annoying that it will make his sentence shorter as he totally denied it previously (like they all do)
What shocked me was one of his 'Victims' was 9:omg:,Ok older girls look mature etc but a 9 year old-bloody hell thats sick:NoNo:

:yeahthat: ... Something's fishy!

My thoughts exactly Les.
Like you I wondered about suicide as he's already spoken of that. He's also said he has a heart condition that gives him only two years to live.
I'm a little bit shocked at the number of 'high-profile' cases now being revealed.
Makes me think it's the tip of the iceberg and there's so many more non high-profile abusers. :cwm23:

Yes, Arthur I also wonder what's going on.
Bill Roache recently suggested that there should be anonymity for all sex-related cases until a guilty verdict has been made.
What does everyone else think about this?
Personally if I think about it I have to agree.
These kind of allegations, if unfounded, can ruin lives.
I'd rather see anonymity and without a guilty plea much much harsher sentences if found guilty. Plus court costs and compensation from personal estates.
Truly shocked..
Kind of warps the memories of my childhood..
I feel very let down... So many people must have known and yet said nothing..
What about the parents of the kids..They didnt know??
Cmon!!
I never really liked or trusted Jimmy Saville.. Always seemed like a scary clown to me..But Stuart Hall??
Never would have guessed in a million years!!
Seems he was charged in Dec 2012... Never read or heard anything on the internet or any news channel available to me.:NoNo:

I can't see anything positive in naming either the accused or the victim in such cases.
Yes, name the perpetrator AFTER he/she has been convicted, but as you say, innocent people can have their lives destroyed.

I think there's so many of them being rounded up lately that it can only be a matter of time before Ant and Dec get drafted in to make I'm a celebrity sex offender get me out of here.

There's a famous well respected comedy star in the pipeline who's being protected at the moment as he hasn't been charged. Bit shocked when I heard the name being put about on the net. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Getting back on track:
:iagree: with both Peter and Graham. Yes ... AND, of course, Bill Roache's recently-publicised argument in this context.
Given the ultra~sensitive nature of the ALLEGED criminal acts,
MY own personal view is the identities of the accused SHOULD,
in fact, remain anonymous - until a verdict of "GUILTY BEYOND
ALL REASONABLE DOUBT" has been delivered.
To "name and shame" in advance of a fair and proper trial, CANNOT possibly serve ANY useful purpose whatsoever! :nono-1-1: ... indeed, the resultant 'stigma attached is frequently more than capable of unnecessarily wrecking peoples' lives forever - quite regardless of their innocence - as has already been pointed out.
I nevertheless, agree, on a stiffer sentencing policy for those convicted of such sordid and distasteful offences. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

You are right Arthur but that's the price you pay for being in the public eye and all the more reason not to get involved in this kind of stuff.
We would all be named and shamed locally I guess if we were arrested-very hard to keep it quiet, its magnified much more if you are famous.

I'm waiting for a very long list of bands from the 60's, 70's and 80's to start being named. I'd be shocked if all of them didn't sleep with underage girls :yikes:
