I used skyscanner to find a fare and then called the travel agent it showed as the cheapest.

They then beat that price and got me a better flight with shorter waiting times for the 2nd leg of the journey.

Skyscanner is a comparison site. Any booking is done directly with the airline or travel agent.
You get linked when you book.

Just be careful with some of those travel agents. Check flights, taxes, luggage and on long haul check overall times and transit time.

Fly and GO normally beat any price on Skyscanner and Kayak

Exactly!! Also, do a bit of research looking into reviews of whatever travel agent they direct you to and see what other people say about them.
When it comes time to book and pay, ALWAYS use a credit card, even if it's just for the deposit. That way you have some insurance if anything should go wrong, NEVER pay by cash or bank transfer.

Yep, if you happy with the transfer times that's a darn good price.
I'd agree with Steve the very best price is the deal your happy with. It's even nicer when you've manage to negotiate a good discount too :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Me, I'm jealous :icon_lol:
