Webcams should be covered when not in use because hackers could be using them to spy on people, a charity advises.

Childnet International says webcams should be disconnected when not in use, and teenagers should not leave webcams in bedrooms or other private areas.

A BBC Radio 5 live investigation found sites where hackers exchanged pictures and videos of people captured on their own webcams without their knowledge.

A police spokeswoman said webcam hackers would be prosecuted.

Isn't this the RAt programs well basic common sense says:

Don't let anyone play with your PC you don't trust but it has been known for people who a person should trust to load them.
Run a number of malware and Anti virus/spyware programs.
Be careful about links or attachments in emails or in IM messages etc.
If worried cover your webcam with tape or a postit note or put the laptop screen down when not using it.

To be honest if someone had control of my laptop i would be more worried they could access all my accounts rather than stare at a keyboard or my mush now and then!!
