Western US states are baking in an extended heat wave, with temperatures threatening to break the all-time high recorded on Earth.
In Phoenix, Arizona, the mercury hit 47C (116F) on Friday, and in the desert of Death Valley, California, the thermometer approached 51C.

I've experienced just over 42C during a trip to Agra in India.
Managed to complete a wonderful tour of the Taj Mahal but spent most of the day in a hotel, sitting in front of a fan and eating tubs and tubs of Häagen-Dazs

Also expereienced 42c down in Seville Spain July 2010 with that type of heat its best to avoid being out.
I also landed in Qatar last July on my way to Manila and at 11.30 at night temperature was 38c it was like an oven when we stepped of the plane.:cwm23:

The States had a heatwave of 50 degrees+ a few years back if I recall. Far too hot. A nice cool breeze on the coast somewhere in the Phils is my preference. :xxgrinning--00xx3:
