Sorry if these have been asked before.

I just met a guy at the hotel that was refused a visa due to insufficient funds in his current account.

He told me they are looking for an amount of savings around the £20,000 mark even if you are in full time employment. This is in addition to the minimum of £18.600 salary a year.

Is this true ?

Also. If you have a large overdraft but easily earn over the £18,600 say £31,000 can you be refused.

what he has said has made me feel a little sick.

Thanks.

I think it's safe to say he's talking b:censored:ks.
If you earn over £18,600 you satisfy the financial side of things.
Overdrafts, Loans/Credit cards are not taken into account.
There would be a hell of a lot of refusals if everyone had to have 20k in the bank.
Keep Calm and enjoy your break :xxgrinning--00xx3:

some people talk :censored:

only time he needs £20k or more in savings would be if he was earning less than £18k6 a year.

Not surprised the application was refused.
