as i will be flying to philippines and not returning, do i really need to buy travel insurance, with pre existing medical conditions the cheapest costs me around £155 for 3 weeks,
and my point being, as i will be staying i will be taking that risk anyway

I've only used it once...last trip.
Never bothered for previous trips and longer residences there.
Call me irresponsible...and tight ? :cwm25:
I don't trust insurance companies anyway...bunch of robbing 2 faced :censored:s
Also, telling them about your medical conditions...the bar stewards might not even let you on the flight ! :cwm24:

I never go away without cover for all the family, it saved us years ago when one of the boys was taken ill in PI and organisation that swung into action was terrific.
In saying that, now that I have come of age they are really screwing me, but I got annual worldwide excluding the US for £155.
Did think about not bothering but not worth the risk as I do want to return home.
My wife`s was £36.
As you don't plan to return Stewart it might be better spent on some sort of medical cover in the PI.

I wouldn't travel without it... never needed it. But for the sake of the small cost and peace of mind it is worth it...

yes because in reality i only needed my suitcase and flight cancelation part of the insurance, but the isurance companies now only seem to give you cover for everything, just a few year ago you could get insurance without being covered for pre existing medical conditions,
i feel its not worth buying cover this time as im not returning

In the end it's your decision Stewart, but if that plane goes down...you'll probably be able to claim compensation ?
Just remember to take a waterproof pen. :cwm25:

Yes, but you can be filling the claim form out while the plane is tail-spinning, and leave something for your FRIENDS and relations.
