For example, from the Philippines you'd dial 00, then country code (44 for UK), then any area code without the 0 and finally the local number.

International dialing codes can vary from country to country.
From USA it's 011
From Japan it's 010
From most European Countries it's 00

Some countries have different codes depending on the provider you use.

It should work Stewart, 00 44 followed by your area code without the '0' prefix then your 'subscriber' number.
Same for mobile numbers 00 44 followed by the mobile number without the '0'

Should work. Try it again

All my numbers in my cell phone are coded in international format just for convenience when travelling.

Lol, I recently had my mobile fixed and lost all my numbers...

So when I tried to phone My other half in Singapore the other morning to wake her up (as requested) I was wondering why it wouldn't connect.... Wasn't until yesterday I remembered I had to put 00 in front of the Singapore international dialling code.
