"used by" and" best before"

found a leaflet today..even though this been ask before but cnt find the thread..
says food "used by" are dates for safety and must be followed correctly:Erm:, dont use any food after the end of the use by date:cwm24:, even if its looks fine and smeel fine.This is because using it after date could put health risk??:cwm25:

although some might agree but i seems confuse too ...like for example mainly meat, sea food etc that we cant use of course we put on the freezer and some we bought it in weekly shoppin and its for some reason we can cook it on one go and used by date is there..as we still use it ...after those ..
how many in here are using it still after use by date..? and how long would u kept those food in freezer even its already use by date is over..

On USE BY dates....Must admit i normally use my nose...if in doubt, throw it out!
BEST BEFORE dates I normally ignore particularly those stamped on canned foods.
