Hi guys.
What is the differnence between VFS & Visa4uk?
Is it better to use the VFS being it is based and geared up to the Philppines?
Many thanks
John

Visa4UK is where you do the online application for UK Visa. VFS is where your wife would go to submit all her documents and application form and they will hand it to British Embassy. Don't be confused of the two.

Oh my thanks for that .. so It seems then>
Apply visa4uk and pay there..is that correct?
Then go online to VFS book the appointment and VIP slot and take all her documents?
Am I correct in thinking this is so?
Many thanks for valued advise as always and Terpe as well. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Ok John this is how it works. Your wife registers with visa4uk she creates the password. Visa4uk will then send her the GWF number by email. She can then put in her details. She gives you the password and you can put your details in. Visa4uk has the facility to go back and check your answers before you submit them. If you dont have the information to hand you can save. When you feel everything is ok you pay for the visa. they will send a email confirming this. Then your wife can book her VFS appointment. Hope this helps.

Hi Guys,
can any one give me some idea of how many days from applying with VFS VIP option it is to get the appointment?
We plan for her to apply mid October .. but her VISA application will be end of Sept - early October.. and so get in before the new rules come out on 28th October.
Thanks
John

There are no new rules that I'm aware of impacting Visa Application for entry to UK with a view to settlement.
There are new rules impacting ILR and Naturalisation application only that are effective 28 October 2013 concerning Life in UK and a passing grade at B1 for English Language test.

John,
It's a pity no responses so far.
Why not give VFS application centre a call. By all accounts they're usually very helpful.
I'm sure they will help.

John - not sure if you have applied for an appointment yet, but when we applied for our appointment we submitted a number of preferred days that we wanted the appt. to occur. We had a response back confirming our first preferred day after about a day or two from recollection. We originally applied for a standard appt. but decided later to go for the VIP option, we just informed them by email and paid the extra on the day. The appt time was the same though...
Hope this makes sense...

hi john!
I had my visa appointment last aug 27, 2013. I called this number to set up the appointment (632) 501 3217 and they sent me the appointment details through email. The person's email address who assisted me to set up my appointment is florida.santos@paxys.com
It's better to call them as it is more efficient rather than emailing them. When you call them, they will immediately email to you the appointment form that you need to fill out and then they will book your appointment. So no need to wait for a day or two. :)
I booked my appointment a week before. You can also change your appointment 24 hours before your appointment time is due.
Hope this helps.

Useful information here as well... We scheduled the appointment online but there is a call centre number and also the number Julie has provided.
