Hi ca143, glad to see your making new freinds on the forum, living in Basildon should mean that you would meet lots of Filipina's in the area, why dont you persuade your husband/fiance to take you to the Lazybones boot fair on the old A130 near Rettendon, its on Saturday and Sunday Mornings, there you will meet many folks from the Pinoy community in Essex, there is always a grupo of Filipinos there in a Balfour Beatty construction van, there not hard to spot, they hang around in a big group, they park up, get out their car blankets, sit and eat snacks and drink from their flasks of tea....

Also, you can ask your partner to take you to the giant boot fair on Sunday Morning at Boreham Interchange, just outside Chelmsford on the A12, there is always lots of Filipinos going around, the Nurses and carers always go there, and there is a great bayihan spirit there, lots of snacks, chikka, and bargains to be had.

So dont worry, youre not alone in Basildon, tell your hubby to take you to Aroma Chinese buffet in Festival Leisure Park, you might see pinays in there on Fridays and Saturday.

So the world is your oyster, it takes time to find like minded ones, but hey they are out there, and its not long before you catch sight of them, they will always ask "So where are you from " back home that is....best of luck....

Melmart,

Hi so your from Kings Lynn, actually there is quite a large pinoy community in North Norfolk, the trouble is, Norfolk to be honest is the land that time forgot, its infrastructure is not in line with the power house of the South East, however let that not deter you, many Filipino carers are in the area, such places as Hunstanton, Wells next the sea, Holt, I saw a couple of pinoy carers walking down the High Street in Sherringham last week, when I was visiting a client, a quick honk of the horn and the usual "kamusta" got their attention, the loud playing of Wowowee in my car certainly turned their heads, so dont worry, being in Kings Lynn, does not mean you are alone, as you go about your business, you will meet pinays around, it just takes time....places where the retired live are normally the places you will find them....Sherringham, Cromer, West Runton, GOOD LUCK.

have u follow it up Ate?

btw, we can only follow up through email and phone call?we cannot track it online anymore?

Trevor has emailed them and phoned them up too, all they can say was "it's being processed, it will take 2 to 3 months". It will come soon I know it is just that the waiting is pretty tiring.

Hi Mel, i understand...but sad to say I am not there yet, maybe one day we can meet up. It would be lovely to take the train and see you wherever Norfolk is. I've been in Suffolk County last year to see my friends in College and it thrilled me to be traveling outside London. Pete's right, it takes time but you will soon be able to make friends there. Goodluck Mel!

Hi Gracia! Until this time your visa didn't arrive yet? Don't worry it is coming very soon. Who knows tomorrow you receive it. I hope everything in our application goes well.
