Dear Filipinos,

My name is Lola, I知 a student and I知 working on a project concerning your great and supportive community.
I知 trying to understand how Filipinos in the UK support family or friends back home and would like to gain some insights from Filipinos in the Philippines benefiting from the support of family members or friends living in the UK.

I was wondering if you could put me in contact with family back home or transfer them this very small survey?
This will only take a minute and I知 ready to incentives your family (up to 」10/person) for this quick survey.

You can find below the survey.
Please can you come back to me by Monday as my oral exam is the next day : )

Thanks a lot for everything!!

Lola

Shouldn't this be incentivize

 Incentivize, in the Americanised style for Filipinos ... yes!

Whereas, we, on the other hand - being Anglicised Brits - would, of course, spell the word as incentivise.

Hello Lola,
Your timeline is very very short for most folks here.

What is the purpose of your survey? How does it fit with your strategy and goal?

From my side I can tell you (for free) that most of what we send is for education of family members.
Now from time to time there are often other reasons to send funds especially in connection with losses due to mother nature (typhoon/floods etc) or for support to medical treatments.

I'm pretty sure you know that already. Hence my questions

:Erm: Up to 」10?

What's that mean? 50p?

Or zilch?

How do we know you're a bonafide student and not an individual gathering personal information in a deceptive manner?

:gp: ... e.g., working for some government body intent on gathering "intelligence" gleaned from records held by agencies like the Commission for Filipinos Overseas (CFO) with a view to maybe imposing some form of taxation upon regular remittances that are sent home to poorer families whose relatives migrate to the UK as OFWs following marriage to British Citizens.

Although such a notion may seem far~fetched ... :anerikke: ... stranger things have been known to happen!

Ooops ... :icon_rolleyes: ... "intelligence" and the CFO aren't exactly renowned for their synonymity.

They're targeting Filipino's who are being sent money from abroad and getting their contact info to deceive them and make them part with the money via 'Get Rich Quick' schemes.

I wouldn't be surprised if our friend 'Lola' is some middle aged Nigerian.

'If you’re to pick a colour to describe how you feel when you receive the money, what would it be? Can you also tell us why you picked that colour?'

Sounds like a branding exercise for one of the Money Remittance companies who need a new corporate look......

Aye, Mick ... it does. But - as I've pointed out in #7 - politicians (everywhere) are forever on the lookout for schemes to extract money from their citizens. And from what I have heard about the *Acquino Administration, I wouldn't put it past *them to utilise such information contained in CFO records in order to set up a database on all migrant Filipinos, for the purpose of taxing the contributions any of those OFWs' families receive from abroad.
