Good evening. I have some questions..

My partner is working abroad, he's nationality is British and he is from Scotland..We are planning to get married here in the Philippines and I will be applying a spousal visa after our marriage.

So my question is what are the requirements if he is working abroad? is that possible that I will live in scotland alone while he is working abroad and will just see me or visit me whenever he has an off from work?

I will be applying for spousal visa after we got married..Thanks..

Hi Pecia,

From the information you've divulged you'll need to take extra care

You really need to share some further details about the future intentions of your partner after you get married.

Technically, at the time of your application for Spouse Visa, your husband should be present and settled in the UK.
Or
Be able to clearly demonstrate that he has intention to return to UK in order to live together with you permanently in the UK.

It does not totally exclude his ability to continue working for non-UK employers or indeed for a working pattern that include being out of UK.
But the application will fall for refusal if he shows no intention to change being a UK ex-pat worker.

This is a very important, and oftentimes tricky issue.
He should clearly state in a letter just how he intends to achieve a balance of living together permanently in UK with you whilst also balancing his overseas employment.

What are your partners intentions?
