hi there, I'm planning to take the English test in a few months. I checked the IELTS page I'm just wondering how do I apply for the test, should it be by call or should I fill up the application form i saw on the page and submit it?
:Help1:

Will wait for the response.. thanks everyone :thankyou:

Hiya!

Since you are already in Manila, I might as well advise you to take TOEIC. It is an approved english test by the ukba like IELTS but I think much easier and quicker than IELTS.

See the link for more info. http://www.hopkins.ph/visas-immigration/toeic-for-ukba

I hope it will help.

Hello Bon
Good sensible advice there from melovesengland :xxgrinning--00xx3:

IELTS is tested at level B1 which is a higher level than the UKBA requirement of A1

However if you have good reasons to follow IELTS then you should contact a local test centre to pre-book a test appointment.

Hi rolzee, welcome here :welcomex:

The Level A1 Test is a basic level.

Level Group: A
Level Group Name: Basic User
Level: A1
Level Name: Breakthrough / Beginner

Level A1 Description:-
- Can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases.
- Can introduce themselves and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where they live, people they know and things they have.
- Can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.

UKBA only require a pass grade/score for Speaking and Listening.

Although your specific English test may include modules for Reading and Writing these are not required by UKBA so you do not need to be concerned about grades/scores for these.

Hope that eases your stress levels.
