During a debate in Parliament yesterday Witham’s Priti Patel raised a case of a Filipino woman in her constituency who had been in the UK since 2006 and had avoided deportation by lodging multiple applications and appeals.

But WHY doesn't the UK Government [already] apply the same gusto and determination to overruling ECHR legislation that currently allows foreign terrorists and miscellaneous other undesirables to remain in our country? :icon_rolleyes:

Another politician trying to make a name for themselves by picking on an easy target. This woman (nationality irrelevant) has been granted a 48 month visa and now holds down a respectable job helping our elderly community. No doubt a job a lot of today's young unemployed would deem beneath them :Erm: Her children go to a local school, and no doubt are in the small percentage that want to learn.
Long and short of it, she contributes to the community, she pays tax, let her stay.

Perhaps she would also like to discuss the many hundreds of thousands of indians/pakistani/bangladeshi illegals who are currently here or indeed the many thousands of businesses that employ these illegals on low wages or indeed use their businesses to help people enter this country illegally. Come on Pritti lets have a proper debate about illegals not a selective one. :cwm23:

it said she had a 48 month work permit, i wonder if it was extended, another 12 months she could have applied for ILR :doh
