I know why american's doing that bcoz of the nursing board exam scam last june 2006. Only one doing that but all Filipinos are affected. Why are they still hiring Filipino nurses?

my wife was at med school for more than 6 yrs, and i'm sure what goes on in med schools in the philippines, goes on in every med school in every country..

as for the skills of filipino docs. they are more skilled than most british or yank docs, as they have to do a degree in nursing or biology first. as long as the uni/school is recongised by the W.H.O , who cares what yanks think :D

What a disgusting comment to a filipinos. Americans thinks that they are something else but the truth is they are not. I can't understand why among the people in the world, why it is always the filipinos are the bad meat and they love to humiliate the filipinos.

I really agree that they owe us a Public apology not only from the network of "Desperate Housewives", but I think we need an apology from their president. Therefore, americans is very very rude. Filipinos don't deserves this kind of humiliation.

I agree with you Charl. I guess the president of the channel of the tv program "Desperate Housewives" should be the one to blame, the scriptwiter, the director and the producers as well. Actors and actresses should also consider their lines if it is offending. If they think it is not acceptable to be said then they can ask their directors to change it. That is common sense. That only shows that Americans doesn't have common sense?

My sister is American and now not a nice person at all. I hate it when she visits here with her `partner`. so i know you feel offended by this program, but dont let it spoil the way Filipina`s are - sweet and sincere (well most anyway :doh)

People here will probably hate me on this one, because I wouldn’t get upset about the statement from that show. The writer wouldn’t use that message if they haven’t got a source or something. I looked at the video a couple of times but the actress said…Some of the Med school from Philippines, and meaning not in general but a few. People get hurt so much when it is true.
But considering plenty of competent and legitimate Filipino in medical professions in the world…that was one of irresponsible writing and delivering it on tv worldwide is embarrassing to our country.
But we must admit that there were scandals few years back about the Phil nurses exam and the run off the mill diplomas in manila.:cwm24:

i think there does seem to be an undercurrent in america of seeing anything from a non-native english speaking country and a non-white dominated country as INFERIOR just because it's from a country other than good old U S of A!

This is why a lot of americans will refer to someone as "his filipino wife" .. . and i think . .. what has her race got to do with anything?! If you said "his black wife" or "his caucasian wife" it would be considered racist . . . hmmmm double standards by the americans i guess!

I think that the filipinos are a proud people who will continue to quietly WOW the world with their pride, values, intelligence and smiles :D

Filipino`s that have finished high school have done two years less study than their British counterparts.

You will find that the Filipinos, even with 2 years less study, will be able to add up and subtract,multiply and divide... be gramatically correct in writing and a lot of other things....

Just let them pray so hard after this, they wouldn't be under the care of a filipina nurses, doctors or caregivers..especially their loved ones....So many of their Presidents were taken care of Filipino doctors and nurses all through out their tenure in the White House...and not only that, even the White House Chef is a Filipino..not to mention the 9/11 incidents. Now who are the LAMEDUCKS here???? they can't even look after their old helpless parents in the senior citizen health care..and mostly well taken care of the Filipinos"
