Is it by any chance a Panasonic (Lumix?). This is one company who put in software so you can only use their branded replacement batteries..........which of course will then be more expensive

If that is correct it can't be wrong, you get what you pay for, they won't be expensive really they will last longer! :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Oh dear Steve. That doesn't sound right.

I hope you can get it fixed quick. I know the feeling when stuff like that happens at just the wrong time :cwm3:

Good luck

well today i went down to the shops and it is worse than i thought, nothing to do with the battery and it has to be sent away, 2 weeks to assess what could be the problem and then another week or so to fix it,

Well i am off on hols in 3 weeks time so there is no guarantee that it will be fixed or back by then.

They gave me another place that could maybe help so i called them and its on its way there tomorrow morning in Stoke and they will try to help me out, all in all if it cant be fixed or too much to fix i shall have to buy another one before the hols

they cant say what it is till they see it, is what they have told me, i have tried all i know to try and see what the problem could be but i cant, so its in their hands now, hope to hear from them next week, either way its either going to be mended or a new xmas present for me

Its a hobby i enjoy doing taking pictures, i dont want to give it up, with getting a cheap snap and go

How much did it cost? If it's a cheapo, might have been a good idea to buy a new one.

we brought it for a wedding present for ourselves and with money gifts given towards it, the body itself cost £344
