well i have the quote for the repair for the camera, i hope you all are sitting down, £366, thats what i thought too, ok it cost me £320 just over 3 years ago so to me its not worth fixing, now do i go through my home insurance and pay the first so and so and then they may put the insurance up the next time, or just get another one, :Erm::Erm::Erm::Erm::Erm:, whatever i do its a shock to my wallet

I suppose another option would be to find a similar camera going second hand on Ebay if you don't want to pay that much for a new one.

Bad news Steve £100 pa for amateur usage smacks to me of it not being fit for purpose - what brand is it ?

i have looked for the same model on Ebay and yes well under £200 second hand,

its a nikon d5000, bought used at the time, the shop that are going to fix it says its a damaged electrical circuit £170 to replace but has to be ordered and then it has to be calibrated and so on, but they cannot get it back before we fly out on holiday and thats the bummer part

I guess as it was 2nd hand my thoughts of 3 years amateur use go out of the window

we have used the camera many many times and we reckon it may have took over 10,000 pictures since we have had it, yes it should take lots more but like anything, it could break anytime

its like anything in life, something tends to happen when you dont want it to,

Ems want to get a new model the d5200 and yes what they are asking to repair it all we would have to add is another £100

I'm a very simple person....for me a no brainer.
No offence Steve, you know that.
See what PC world are offering for the same camera

You've had your money's worth Steve. You bought it cheap in the first. With the experience you've gained taking all those pics you are well versed on what to look for on an up uprated version :xxgrinning--00xx3:

£369 for the body only here, pretty sure your existing lenses are interchangeable
