If there is a riot where private and public property is being damaged then the police need to go in with boots, batons, gas, rubber bullets - whatever it takes to quell the mob then hunt down others involved afterwards.

Looked like a peaceful march Joe so I've no issues with that unlike the wanton destruction wreaked in London & Singapore

Protests on Monday were marked by a number of clashes with police, who fired teargas but there were no reports of serious trouble on Tuesday.

Looked like they were going for a stroll as they took their helmets off realising there wasn't going to be any violence or destruction.

I can't quite see what you are drawing out of this Joe - brutal state oppression or some other leftist imagination, vicious riot police or some such fantasy. I hope the Italian riot police keep their boots and batons in good order to deal with the Roma criminal migrants rather than their own kith and kin. Phone up the Politburo in Islington they'll give you the official take.
