well i am lost, this new camera does loads of this but i think o have bit of more then i can chew, or is it i get bored reading the instructions, i think i will have to put it in auto mod till i get use to it, deep down i am pleased we bought this model :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Yes Steve, just stick with Auto mode for a while until you have digested all the technical features, it will all come together in time. I suppose it's like learning to drive really, just one step at a time and you'll get there in the end! :xxgrinning--00xx3:

The software DVD Nikon supplies for your pc is not exactly user friendly also
In the early days i use to upload pics and then i could never find them
RAW or JPEG time to decide .........

i have never used the software they supply, i would rather just down load on the computer then play with the pictures using other sites

Stick it on a tripod outside. Point it at the stars, and set the exposure for 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 60 seconds for 6 shots. Make sure the focus is infinity. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

This teaches you the exposure part, and if you are lucky you'll get some nice shots of the stars. Then test it for 1,2,5,10,30 minutes :smile:

Is it a DSLR? Just put it on manual focus and frame your shots correctly. That's half the battle. :D
