blocking benefits or tax credits for 5 yrs make sense, as that rule applies to Non EU citizens in the UK, those on work permit's have had to pay taxes for 5yrs and were not able to claim those benefits until they had ILR.

Theresa May has confirmed that the Government wants to toughen up restrictions on European Union migrants who are “abusing” freedom of movement rules.
