The life in the UK test is for when you apply for Ilr or Citazenship which happens 2 or 3 years after you have applied for the Fiance or spouse visa.

there are a few posts from people who recently applied. These will help you can now from what i gather fill in the form online andf then print it out. You have to book an appoiment to hand in the paperwork and have finger prints done if i have understood it correctly.

others will know more but there are a few posts from the last month or so which have peoples own experiences of going though the procedure so may be worth a quick search and browse though some threads.

You don't have to book an appointment, but if you don't I'd advise turning up early to get a place in the queue.

Much better to book the appointment, which can be done online. Whatever time you're given, we found that it is worth turning up early anyway ... we were in and out an hour before the appointment time we were given.

We found that it wasn't exactly clear what you have to do when you arrive on the 25th floor ... you must go to the waiting area (a large room with many white plastic garden chairs), and register your presence with the security guards there.

If you want to get a flavour of the try this website to know what should be expecting.
Of course that said, if you have been living in the UK for a minimum of three years.

you don't need life in the UK test if you apply spouse visa, you need to take a test if you applying ILR or citizenship

Yes of course, the test is only for the ILR, and not for the visa.
Sorry for the confusion

Hello Denehazel,
yes, VAF2 Oct.2006 is the right form for her visa. She should purchase first the manager check for her visa fee at the bank ( BPI, BDO, Metrobank). She really need to go to Manila to pass her supporting documents and have her fingerscans and digital photograph. So that she will not wait there for long it is better if she will apply online or she can email the VFS and tell them the specific date that she will lodge her application.
I hope everything goes well....

on the VFS website they stated there that they will now accept application online for all categoies of UK Visa..And to complete the application online u just have to follow the step-by-step instruction there..

on my experience, since i just submitted my application a couple oe weeks ago i tried the application online..I can say that its so easy to fill up and the questions there are almost the same with the downloaded application form..

though there are some questions which are revised already and after u finished answering the application online u have to print it out and then together with ur supporting documents u submit it directly to VFS..

All of the informations u need regarding the UK Visa are already in the VFS Website..Just open ur eyes and read each word properly.:doh:doh

We are lucky that there's a great person who have made this forum possible, also it gives other people inspiration, encouragement and advices from others who have also encountered and experienced all the tensions, stress, pressures and nervousness in applying a visa and to think that this information is for FREE..:BouncyHappy::BouncyHappy:

Hi, am a newbee here...

Just wanna know kung settled kna sa UK kaya VAF form 2 ung kinuha mo for your wife?

Kasi ako 7 months pa lang sa UK then 5-years ang VISA ko pero mag-aapply kasi ung husband at daughter ko ng Dependants Visa, since limited lang ung duration ng visa ko, VAF-1 lang for Non-Settlement knuha nya, tama ba un?

Pwede bako humingi ng advise kasi mag-aapply na sya next week sa UK VAC and ang isasubmit nya lang for Dependants VISA APplic are the ff (original and photocopies): - other than the passport pix and bank receipts they will be submitting.

1. COVER LETTER from the Sponsor -that's me (detailing relationship, Finances (salary and remittances made), Accommodation-available rooms for the child and us - the couple) and Possible Child Care arrangement-sbi ko d2 si hubby muna mag-aalaga in case wla pa namang work, tama ba yun?)
2. Signed VAF-1 forms for husband and child
3. 6-months Bank Statements (£3K+)
4. Remittance Slips (gumawa ako ng summary ng remittances ko in 7 months, umabot nko sa £5K+ na pdala ko, sa palagay nyo ba may bearing ito?)
5. Letter from the Letting Agency + Tenancy Agreement (indicating approval for my dependants to stay here, ilang bedrooms available at ung end of lease)
6. Letter from the Company confirming Employment + salary indicated; Employment Contract + Work Permit (Analyst kasi ako d2 sa UK, sa palagay nyo ba may chance application ng dependants ko?)
7. Birth Cert ng mag-ama ko and Marriage Contract nmin ni hubby
8. Copies ng emails nmin, pati nga mga call cards sinama ko na at mga telephone bills...
9. Contract ng educ plan na binabayaran ko sa Pinas (in support of my child's dependence sakin kasi sya nakaindicate na scholar at ako payor).
10. Pictures naming 3.

May kulang pa ba ako? Pwede nyo ba ako bigyan ng pointers? Wala kasi akong matanungan. As in all by myself lang talaga lahat ng yan, ung iba d2 ko lang sa forum nakuha ung ideas kaya naman sobrang thankful ako sa inyong lahat.

I would appreciate kung sana may magrereply sakin sa mga queries ko on how you think of our application.

Thanks,
Jamz
