looks like a typhoon on its way, we were going to travel back from Cebu to Cagayan today but ferry cancelled, flights also may be cancelled, booked a flight for tomorrow but expect that the new airport will most likely cancel inward and outward flights , same problem with a little rain when they cancelled flights when we were to travel to manila, was cancelled then, a bit of a waste of money that airport, Laguindingan, doesn't take much to bring it to a halt :Erm:

Yep Minglanilla is already taking a pounding on the rain front. Sent the Mrs downstairs to stay with the kids (bit safer if something decides it wants to remove my roof).

I went to bed early as they cut the power here..Bit of a chilly night and I expected more of the same today and tonight.. Just had a look outside (6am) and mostly blue skies!!
Looks like it passed over really fast..

I'm stuck on camotes island. No power and hardly any food left at the resort. No one can change a 1000 peso note. We really need to get back to cebu.

The resort has taken damage. It was bad here last night.

Sounds like a nightmare..
Surely they are running ferries off the island today?

We called the ferry operators. They dont have an update from the coastguard yet. It was signal number 3 here last night and cebu might still be at signal number 1.

Im just hoping we can get back to cebu later today.

There is no atm here at all. We only planned on being here overnight for a short visit.

Has been a real eye opener.

Well keep us updated if you have time and good luck today..
If I go anywhere I always change as many 1000 bills as I can usually in big shopping malls..

Filipino`s never have change!

Thanks.

We had some time left on the scooter we hired so we went to as many shops as we could and got as much change as possible.

Now back safe in cebu. Managed to get a ferry back. First ferry broke down though. Did see a dolphin jump out of the sea though which was wonderful.

Some Koreans were on the same ferry as us going to camotes island. They decided to try and get a pump boat back to cebu so not to miss their flight.

One is still missing.

you would have thought with modern technoligy the koreans would have looked up weather reports before taking such risks
