it's a pity those who are law abiding British citizens who have Non EU partners don't have the same 'right to a private and family life' as some foreign killers and rapists have in this country
In 2012/2013 602 appeals were allowed by the immigration courts, including 324 criminals allowed to stay in Britain because of their right to a family life

Don't forget there was an amendment made to parliament which would have allowed their deportation - voted down by Labour, the LibDems (surprise surprise) and the tory cabinet, knowing it was at odds with the people who elected them, decided to abstain.
If the cabinet had not abstained then it would have apparently gone through. Labour were tipped to abstain but decided to vote against it, if they had abstained then it would have gone through.

I am studying a law degree at the moment and honestly cannot believe how intertwined UK And EU law actually is, I never realised the extent to which the EU can influence and force ratification of law created by unelected people...
The only way I could see the UK becoming truly democratic would be to become a republic, lose the monarchy and sever some of the EU control.
