Just a couple of questions about ILR guys.
Do I have to maintain the income level required for the spouse visa and. Is it best to have a joint bank account?
Thanks in advance.

I would recommend joint bank a/c, but regarding £18600 per annum we are below that and ILR due in a few weeks, also we're on the old rules and other members say the ILR is more about you still being together than concerns with finance! :Erm:

Andy, your wife has a way to go before ILR.....that's 5 years down the line.
Anyway as it stands right now the answer is yes as as a couple you'll need to meet the appropriate income threshold....whatever that happens to be.

The next visa step for you both is the second FLR(M) which is just before 30 months living in UK
That too will require that as a couple you are able to meet the appropriate income threshold.

Your joint incomes will be used.

BTW the courts will be deciding if a different (lower) income limit will be used during this month....so fingers crossed :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Bank account arrangements are solely a personal decision.

It's a longshot Andy, but as always fingers crossed for those whose applications are currently 'on hold' in limbo or those couples just waiting for some concessions

Certainly an uncertain future for us all with the worry and stress if anyone of us lost our jobs and weren't able to meet the income threshold.

I know as a couple then, £18,600 is not a problem, but if one became unemployed before FLR or ILR what the hell would happen? Do our loved ones get sent back and with kids in tow...

Scary stuff Andy - I understand..:yikes:

Don't worry at this stage Andy, just enjoy your lives together and cross those bridges as you come to them, I'm sure everything will turn out ok! :xxgrinning--00xx3:
