Hi Zoiee, and welcome to the forum.

I'm sure there are lots of Filipinos in Cambridge

Someone will be along from nearer that area than I am soon, to advise, but meanwhile...try the Catholic churches and near hospitals. (Lots of health service employees).

Also google Cambridge Filipinos. Maybe a local club there.

... :iagree: ... I'm thinking of Rosie 1958 - who's [most] often on the forum during evenings.

Hi guys... thank you for taking time with my post... and for welcoming me in this forum.... I just arrived last late January this year from Philippines for a public health study.

Was looking for a Catholic Church here but when i went to the area last Wednesday.... it was closed.... maybe i was just used to the Philippines setting that the church is open most of the time especially during daytime... I will try again tomorrow since it's Sunday.

:iagree: ... Myrna must've been fortunate ... :anerikke: ... in that respect.
I have to say, throughout the 5 years she's lived here, she's become friends with many other Filipina - chatted with friendly ease to literally dozens more - and never, so far (touch  wood) encountered even the slightest hint of snobbishness.

Hi Zoiee ......... welcome to the forum and also to Cambridge! :Hellooo:

There are hundreds of Filipinos working at Addenbrookes Hospital and also the Rosie Maternity Hospital, both in Cambridge and you will no doubt see some in the cafes and restaurants at the hospitals.

There is a small Chinese supermarket called Cho Mee in Mill Road, Cambridge that also sells Filipino products and the last time I was in the shop (which is quite some time ago) there was a male Filipino member of staff working there who would no doubt be able to tell you where the Filipinos meet.

In the meantime, here's a link to a newspaper article written about the Filipinos at the above hospitals and how they were raising money for the victims of Typhoon Yolanda:-

http://www.cambridge-news.co.uk/News/Cambridge-hospital-Filipinos-join-forces-to-raise-money-for-Typhoon-Haiyan-relief-effort-20131114062121.htm

I hope that you manage to meet some new friends soon :xxgrinning--00xx3:
