Not sure if necessary, but would be of help if you can include an email to/from registry office inquiring about dates, procedures etc. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Thanks for that Rani, however my fiance just rang them and book for our wedding and paid 30GBP and they sent a paper of the booking with our names, date of the wedding and place, plus the receipt. Is it the same thing as what you suggested?

Jen, just to highlight that the very recent refusal of your Marriage Visa application highlights one of the areas of weakness that you'll need to be especially focussed on.
That is one of evidencing a genuine, subsisting and serious relationship.
You'll also need to focus on your intention to enter the UK to get married and your intention to live together permanently in the UK.
Good luck

Hi terpe, that's what I am really focusing about, on how to prove that our relationship is real, but what else I can do? That's the only stuff I can submit :( and about the intention of getting married in UK, are ring receipts, provisional booking, enquiries with the restaurants nor enough? We don't have lots of money for our wedding, it will just be a simple and for family only as we are saving for the next visa after we get married :'( I can't buy wedding dress yet :(

You need to show how many times he's been back and forth to see you and how long you've actually been together, in the flesh so to speak. . This is something you haven't mentioned....nor have I read how long you been together. I may have missed that. .if so I apologise. :icon_sorry:
All very well rubbishing the authorities but, if he's only been to see you on a single holiday then the authorities have every right to be suspicious of your intentions.
Just a thought okay. .

I think as you've made some tentative plans then you probably had some discussions together for the future wedding. Any evidence at all, however small, to show that wedding arrangements are in hand will all help.
How about any e-mails, texts or facebook messages that specifically mention wedding plans, especially in connection with:-
- Where and when
- Rings, dress, cake, catering, reception
- Guests, invitations
- Any quotations relating to wedding arrangements (just demonstrates that the couple have some intention)
- Honeymoon
If they believe the relationship is genuine then they usually believe a marriage will take place given reasonable evidence.
Consider including a supporting letter from both sets of parents acknowledging the engagement and wedding and welcoming you both into the family.
Have your fiance write a good supporting letter outlining how long you have been together and important events and meetings between yourselves.
You may also briefly outline the start of the relationship, how it developed, the times you met face-to-face, some things you did together, your feelings for each other, why you want to marry, plans for the future and where you will live and how you will support yourselves.
Keep it simple and above all be honest about everything.
Just some ideas to build on

Jen,
What you've called a 'Certificate of Employment' needs to be a letter from the employer confirming:-
- employment and gross annual salary
- length of employment
- length of time over which they have been paid the level of salary stated
- the employment status/type (permanent, fixed-term contract, agency etc)

just to go off topic slightly.
is it a case of UKBA looking more stringently at fiancee visa applications--as opposed to spouse visa apps?. after all--if its a spouse app--then its a case of fait accomplis--and so long as the sponsorship criteria are correctly met---how can UKBA reasonably refuse ?
in which case--if a couple offset the cost of a return flight for the ( groom ) to the philis compared to the added cost of the extra FLR fee if the fiancee comes to marry here?
do you see where i'm coming from ?

Well... a number of both Fiance(e) and Spouse visa's have been refused when the ECO feels there is no serious intention to marry or when it's believed to be a marriage of convenience.

I suppose its everyone to the own bigmac.
But me personally I found it hard when I left my fiance on the first visit but bloody devastating after the second visit the time that we married.
Nearly 5 months seperated from each other was hell... just my opinion...:NoNo:

He's been here twice to visit me. We will submit his Philippine stamps in his passport, hotel receipt where we stayed, pictures together and his flight tickets.
We've been in a relationship for one year

Surely if money is an issue why go to the expense of marrying in the UK. I'd have thought it be wise to marry in the Philippines. They'd save a fortune. It would make sense to all. And hopefully wipe away any suspicion.
I don't think we know it all as yet coz we don't actually know what time her fiancé has been with her. That might give a clue as to why the authorities think the relationship is not genuine.
We..Both ex partners, submitted all those documents on Jen's list and got visas without any problems.

Hiya Jen just take the advice the guys have given and you should be fine.
I visited my wife twice also and we were in a relationship just 8 months and the visa application was successful, hope that takes away any fears you have.
God Bless and Good Luck, Mark...:xxgrinning--00xx3:

Of course we have thought of marrying here, who wouldn't be right, but the thing is he cannot have that long off which is required just for us to finish every wedding preparation here in the Philippines, he is employed and impossible to get a month off. And also, he's paying his apartment every month, it wouldn't be practical if no one is staying there for a month and we have to pay for hotel or any rental house here for a month.

Keith visited me twice (within a year) before I lodged my fiancee visa and I only waited 2 weeks to get the approved visa. As long as you provided them all (I advise more if you do have more documents) that they want to see and your relationship is genuine, then everything will be alright. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Sorry Jen I forgot to mention that the marriage took place in the Phils.
But the point I was making was that twice visiting was enough also an 8 month relationship was enough also.
There have been many many questions thrown up here since I became a member regarding which visa is easiest, the spouse or the fiance, basically there are both the same apart from extra expense for FLR once married and in the UK.
If you can just supply as much evidence as possible regarding the genuiness of the relationship and I stipulate once again follow the guys advice on here then you will be fine.
I know how stressful this all is and know how you feel but you are at the best forum with a wealth of advice from us guys here.
Take care Jen...:xxgrinning--00xx3:

As said before letters from yourself your mother and father also a letter from somebody else(could be another family member) who knows how happy you both are, also letters from boyfriends family also.
Just give as much evidence as you can pics, fb, skype ect ect, also anything else you can throw at them.
Just be positive and in maybe 3 months time there will be another post about the success of your visa application.
Once again, God bless...:xxgrinning--00xx3:

Perhaps, engagement "congratulation cards" from friends could help.

I advise just that..to marry in the Philippines. It will be cheaper in the long run and prove without doubt your relationship is kosha

I appreciate your suggestions about marrying here, both of us would really want to, he works in BT and their reliability has a huge impact to his job, if I am not mistaken he is only allowed 25 days off a year, but he cannot use it all in just one occassion, what if he got sick? What if he has something to do for a day? You know, if it is not really about his job, we would really choose to get married here, no questions asked. Also, his loneliness is killing him, I know you have been through the same.
We cannot change plans anymore, we have already started this, if we are going to change our plans again, we will be messed up. hihi but I appreciate your suggestions tho.

Hi, Another question, Is it right that my boyfriend's sister addressing her letter to ECO?
As my mum will also create a letter for both of us, should it be addressed to ECO?
