PLEASE IF I MAY ASK A QUESTION TO THE MODERATORS REGARDING SARS GIVING ME A NEGATIVE REP.
IS IT RIGHT FOR HER TO GIVE ME THAT NEGATIVE REP?
AM I NOT ENTITLED TO MY OWN OPINIONS AS I HAVE WRITTEN THAT POST NOT TO GIVE FALSE INFO BUT TO SHARE EXPERIENCES OF SOME OF THE WOMEN WHO HAVE BEEN ON THAT POSITION AND NEVER CLAIMED THE INFO WAS FROM ANY WRITTEN LAWS.
No DiSRESPECT BUT THE NEGATIVE REP WAS VERY HARSH...

you are entitled to your opinion and it's her right to give a negative rep if she believes your post warranted it, but people don't normally give neg reps out, but for what ever reason sars thought your post warranted it.

I totally agree Joe. If somebody wants to dish out neg rep for whatever reason, so be it.

Why was it different for me?

I explained why I gave it yet, the recipient saw fit to use his position to out me and start some sort of hate campaign which to date, seems quite successful :NoNo: all bc of a freaking neg rep.
I was frog marched into an humiliating apology...either apologise or get the axe, all for not liking his tone.

He didn't accept it anyway. :NoNo:

Out of all the neg rep I've received, not one has left a calling card. Honesty, it doesn't matter! ! ;-)

All I can say is, if this is all you lot got to worry about then your lives are running a long sweet :-) Long may it continue.

Rep abuse is still at large though ...Being issued for nonsensical reasons...it wasn't just me. ..a couple of the mods are/still just as guilty if not more so

I agree with this, it does absolutely nothing except make a few happy and potentially annoy the majority. Some does it for fun or just to get someone back, I really can't see the point of having it specially if it allows you to neg anonymously.

Many forums have a rep system and I don't think our forum is going to change. I am sure you were happy to receive your reps, even just for joining the forum . But make a post that is factually incorrect or flame/annoy people then you can expect a negative result. The sun doesn't shine all the time you know.

This is not the case. Moderators can see who's being repped even you fail to put your name to it. This fact wasn't known by the majority until the cover was blown 2 weeks back.

Not recently Rayna. ..This has been going on amongst 3 or 4 members for the last 4 or 5 years. Before that it wasn't evident. :NoNo: From what I can remember the reps were not an issue. The forum had a spate of new members in 2009 that's when the rep giving, ar$e touching for nothing started. Yes, I didn't help my cause one iota of which I admit but, I was only doing what a few had been doing for years :icon_sorry: :heartshape1:

Still no option for me to give out reps. All I see is the "triangle warning sign" and no rep + or - buttons.

The reps were not an issue in the past because members then didn't care & they didn't think of any importance of the reps. It only got started to be abused lately when Terpe got his first star, and then a few members started getting theirs. Some members probably think getting stars would in turn give them high regard in the forum, which isn't the case.

The Rep system has been in place for over 10 years. I do not change the forum software setup just because a very small minority can't handle something, that to the vast majority is just something not to pay much attention to. Some people like to bitch about as many things as they can, whenever they can, these people I ignore, as they need to accept that not everyone agrees with their view of the world.

Only the odd person abuses the Rep system, at the moment that is Gwapito, who gives Rep to someone with one post, containing the word "Hello". It is supposed to be only used for very good, or very bad posts, not for childish tit for tat.

I've had neg rep in the past, and that's life, it has no bearing on my overall long term rating. When you follow a football team, they can have negative results in a season, but still finish on top (ManU excluded this season :icon_lol:).
