Yes, you can be her sponsor. But if you are shouldering her expenses, you also need to provide financial details along with her docs. The most important thing in Visit Visas is to have a strong proof that the applicant WILL return to the Philippines.

Yup. The only difference is your mum will have to get the Family Visit Visa instead of the General Visit Visa.

if she can fund herself, she can do as well but if she is going to stay with you in the UK you have got to provide details about your accomodation etc.

According to this link, you are not able to sponsor your cousin to come to the UK on a Visit/Family Visa

https://www.gov.uk/family-visit-visa/eligibility

Your family in the UK You must be able to show that you’re visiting one of the following family members in the UK:

spouse or civil partner
children
parents or siblings
grandparents or grandchildren
your spouse’s or civil partner’s siblings or parents
your child’s spouse or civil partner
step parents, step children or step siblings
a person you’ve been living with in a long-term relationship, as if you were married or in a civil partnership, for at least 2 years before the day you apply

Your family member must also be one of the following:

a British citizen
settled in the UK
granted asylum in the UK
under humanitarian protection in the UK

That is for a Family Visit Visa. But she can sponsor her cousin under General Visit Visa.

Thanks Rayna:smile: This is quite topical with me at the moment as my first Filipina wife is asking whether she can get her cousin here as well.

The downside with the General Visit Visa is that you must come under your own steam. Going by with what Ive read and understand, the folks in the UK can not sponsor you unlike in the Family Visa

From that link:

To come to the UK as a general visitor, you must be able to show that:

you have enough money to support and accommodate yourself without working or help from public funds, or you and any dependants will be supported and accommodated by relatives or friends;
