Having a very productive day making sure I have all the required paperwork for Harlenes Spouse visa application.

Sponsor undertakings (SU07) on maintenance and accommodation are normally not required for spouse visa applications.

The form is required in applications for "other dependent relatives " - parents, grandparents, etc. It is not required for spouses, partners or children.

Thank you very much... I fly out in a little over two weeks time and am just making sure I have what I can ready to take with me, saves a big paperwork parcel from DHL when Harlene is ready to submit the visa application :icon_lol:

As with undertakings from an applicant (see above), the ECO should only require an undertaking from a sponsor in exceptional circumstances or for certain categories eg parents, grandparents and other dependent relatives under Rule 317 of the Immigration Rules. (see Maintenance & Accommodation - MAA)


ECB12.6 Is failure to provide / comply with an undertaking on maintenance and accommodation grounds for refusal?

Yes. Failure by a sponsor to provide an undertaking on maintenance and accommodation when requested is grounds for refusal (Rules paragraph 320(14))
