Hello there, i'm new the forum and hope someone could help me.
My best friend is a teacher in Cebu and her mother organises a local church charity for the schools to collect school supplies for the children and hand out to them and i was asked to be a sponsor.
I'm also willing to help as much as possible, but i dont know the best and cheapest way to send boxes of supplies thru air travel and would love some help and advice.
Many thanks in advanced.

The best way is Via BALIKBAYAN boxes.. There is no weight limit and I have never heard about problems through customs here in R.P..
Google... LBC balikbayan boxes UK or wait for recommendations of reputable companies from our members here..
A quick search in our forum search bar will give you a mine of information.

No chance before May 24th by sea. Takes 6-8 weeks normally.
I'm sure they will be just as grateful to receive such a gift...even if they have to wait a little longer.
You could always send them some cash through Western Union, so they can buy their own supplies locally.
That would take a matter of minutes, and there are collection points in every town in the Phils.
Locally sourced school supplies are very cheap there . (I know, because I used to have 3 kids in school in the Phils).

the hand out to the children at the church is the 24th, they only just asked me lol
they actually said they would rather have the supplies and i have bought them. i know they will much appreciated anyway, but it was for a specific day. maybe i'll tell them that i wont be able to make that day. i see the cost is half by ship as it is to fly

How much stuff are you talking about? Why not look for someone that might be travelling to Cebu in the next weeks and just pay whatever extra luggage they might have to take ++
