I emailed UK Visa and Immigration and received this reply,

Thank you for contacting the UK Visas and Immigrations International enquiry service. Your application is waiting to be considered, your visa application centre will contact you when everything is ready. If they want more supporting document, they will contact you. (Now it doesn't say on the system.) I would like to inform you that settlement visa always takes 12-24 weeks. If the VFS inform you that you should get it quickly, I would expect the result by 06/05/2014. Please send an email to us or call us. Mention about GWF number, Date of birth in order to check the application status. Everything is ok now, please wait.

I submitted my documents on 06 February, and its almost 3 months since then. My husband is leaving his current job next week and soon will start into a different company, will it affect my visa application? Does the embassy call and verify the sponsor's employer? I'm so worried with my visa application.

Thanks Sir Michael! Do you think the embassy will call and verify my husband's employer?

I cannot see why they would do that, all the evidence that you supplied with your application would in no doubt be enough to have your visa issued as long as you met the current conditions at the time of application...

God luck Alexis I am sure you will get a positive result soon...Mark...:xxgrinning--00xx3:

..... Do you think the embassy will call and verify my husband's employer?

The Embassy will only contact your husband's employer if they have reason to believe there is deception or if your application is randomly chosen under quality/performance checking.

Under those highly limited cases they would only want to verify data up to and including date of application. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Good morning Alexis:smile: It'll be 7 weeks tomorrow since I submitted mine. It feels a little relieve though, having people to talk with who can relate on what I've been going through. This is tough times as I want to be with the man I love and be a family. But I know in the end it's all worth it. Good Luck to us indeed and loads of prayers..

Hi Baruk and Alexis! Don't worry about the wait. When I was in Manila waiting for my UK spouse visa application to be processed, I was told that the reason it takes weeks is that summer in the Philippines and summer in the UK are the busiest times at the UK embassy. It actually took the embassy only two days to process my application after weeks of waiting in queue. Just keep in mind that it's better to still be in that queue than it is to be told you're out and the application has been denied. :anerikke:
