2 days to go until the World Cup starts. I have already told my wife that football will be on the TV every day. I am not sure if she really knows what is going to hit her. :yikes:
I hope she is very understanding.

I know there are "some" guys that do not like or watch football. I grew up in a sporting family, football will always be in my blood. This is our national game but I am in the real world. If anyone thinks that will will win then they are on Mars. The odds are stacked in favor of Brazil or Argentina because of the climate but if it was being played in Iceland we would still have no chance...... we can only dream and hope, we all have dreams.
3 Lions on the shirt. I stand by the boys in Brazil. My dream is alive and kicking and my heart beats faster just thinking about the next few weeks.
Sorry Les, I am not a Man U fan but any English club in Europe I will support and every player in our squad I stand with and we go down together or bask in the glory as one.

It would be nearly impossible to not have ever seen at least part of a match on tv.
Of course England won't win it.
When it's in South America then it is always won by a South American team.
I can't make my mind up Brazil or Argentina?

It's normal to me Brian, I never heard my grandparents (who I lived with first 10 years of my life) or parents ever mention or say a single thing about football. At school there was just one boy in my class that was interested in football and his ambition was to play for our local town football team! :xxgrinning--00xx3:

My Dad was not into sport, maybe snooker but that's not really a sport.
As a fan of many sports I'm amazed when someone does not do sport :yikes:
There again, you save yourself from all the heartache !
It's like the World Cup, I'm excited as I type - mention it to everyone and cannot wait for it to start - nothing else matters too much including work (I lose a lot of money not working)

Really Brian, as kids we never kicked a ball about outside, we used to play Cowboys and Indians using our fingers as guns also played snobs and with cigarette cards to see who could flick them the furthest. Sometimes we would build a little cart with an old pram and a tea chest and pull each other along on it. In the summer if the weather was nice we would get a jam jar and a fishing net and go miles along the canal catching Sticklebacks, minnows and catfish. No Football at all. Remember the nation was recovering from the Second World War and there was no money about and at Christmas we were very lucky if we got a wind up toy. It was an apple, an orange, nuts and a Rupert book or Beano annual! :xxgrinning--00xx3:

It#s still amazing tho Michael, as a kid in the 60s we played Cowboys and Indians, etc but nearly every lad kicked a football about - the dads used to join in much to the annoyance of the odd car that would come up the road.
Then there is TV, all the games even pre-Sky, FA Cup Finals, World Cups etc. It's so hard to imagine you never played or even caught sight of a game.
Even as a man say in his 30s/40s have you never been at a mate's house, or in a pub where games are being shown?
It's quite interesting that you have managed to avoid all forms of the sport in a predominately footballing nation.
I'm going to take some great pics of the Happiest place to live on Saturday and prove to Joe it's full of younger people too :xxgrinning--00xx3:

My Dad was not into sport
Oh mine was, Les - in a BIG way - at least, football!
Played for (and captained) a number of Junior, Amateur and Juvenile teams in his young days.
Likewise, my brother and his younger lad, Graeme. Together, the three of 'em attended matches most weeks - right up until my dad's sudden death in 1989 - and the others continue to do so.
But me? Well ... :anerikke: ... I guess I'm the"black sheep" of the family, in the sense that I've never been what you'd call a fan of "the beautiful game". :NoNo:

I do not mean to say everyone should love football - and I can understand why when you see people rolling around etc.
Saying all that tho, no other sport in England even comes close to the fervor football produces.
I like a bit of Rugby but when we won the world cup in 2003 it was tiny in comparrison.

Just been talking to a Dutch friend, he says similar over there decked out in flags & orange.
He also says the additional benefit of all the flags etc is that makes it easy to know if you’ve inadvertently strayed into a dangerous immigrant neighbourhood - I had to agree

No idea where I can watch the games live here because of the time difference..

I still need to advise him what time the England game is on though. :xxgrinning--00xx3:
